My name is Katie, and I am an absolute birth junkie. :) My passions are women, pregnancy, birth and babies. Women have been giving birth since the beginning of time, and I truly believe that our bodies were made to do this. I love seeing women believe in themselves, tap into their intuition and tune in to their bodies. Having said that, I also firmly believe in being prepared no matter what you are planning for your birth. Have a plan B. Know your options. Educate yourself so that you can truly make informed decisions. The general public and the media sometimes do not give us the best impression of pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Knowledge is power. Fear is natural, especially fear of the unknown. Simply learning about the process of pregnancy and birth can alleviate many of our common fears. Pregnancy and the postpartum period are wonderful times of self discovery, and I am so happy to be supporting women and their families during these times.
I started following DONA's guidelines for becoming a birth and postpartum doula in April of 2007 and have been attending women in the birth and postpartum period since September of 2007. I have experience with first time moms, hypnobirthing, hypnobabies, inductions, epidurals, C-sections, sibling adjustment, and more. Please click here to find out more about services.
